Most parents would say… absolutely nothing is wrong with this picture. Every one of us has been there with our own kids, our nieces and nephews, or the cool little kids we spend time with.
I tell myself every day I should write more things down – what my kids say, what they do… I should appreciate the little minutes more – like when their shoes are on the wrong feet or they get their words goofed up or when accidents happen.
This word “should” is a tough word. I actually think it should not be part of our vocabularies. We do what we can, we try our best. “Should” makes us get down on ourselves and others.
Should this little kiddo have her shoes on the “right” feet? Or should I smile and laugh because my 7-year-old was the one who put these shoes back on this 2-year-old’s feet, and of course, did it in her own perfect way.
